Camping Trip

July 4th Weekend

Tynan and I drove a couple of hours to a hot spring campground and camped with a friend of mine from work and her family. Tynan had a blast! He got to eat, swim, play ball, eat some more, keep mama awake and then wake her up horribly early, get dirty, play in a tent, play with dogs, and eat! He's a natural camper!

Daddy sure is lucky to have such a helpful assistant! Look at all those dandelions the assistant helped to seed too!

Trike Rides

We got Tynan a helmet and let him try out this tricycle that Shawn refurbished. He love love loves it! He asks every day, usually multiple times, to go for a ride. What a cutie!

Easter

The Easter Bunny visited our house and brought Tynan some Play-Doh of his own! Tynan loves it.


We also dyed some eggs after eating lots of naughty Easter candy. Tynan had a blast! His fingertips were an odd greenish shade for several days.

Playing

Tynan loves Play-Doh! Grandma Doreen still has some Star Wars character presses that Shawn and his sisters had when they were kids. So Tynan was making circles and strings while I was making Darth Vader, Luke, and Leia. Tee hee!

Petting Zoo

Next we went to feed the animals at the petting zoo. (We were all about feeding animals that day!) The petting zoo is held in a pet shop. Tynan had a blast looking at the fish and lizards and I was even afraid for a while that he was going to hold the tarantula one employee was showing off. Blecht!!!!

Dog Walk + Ducks

Tynan and I went with Grandma Wendy and Aunt Nikki and Cousin Annie to feed the ducks. We brought the dog too and Tynan had a blast holding the retractable leash.


The ducks hung out for a while eating the bread but then crossed the river. Maybe they got tired of refined wheat?

Tynan and I went bowling with a whole bunch of family members. Tyan *loved* it! I have a ton of pictures and videos that I need to put up on here.

Aunt Sarah

Tynan hasn't seen his Aunt Sarah in almost 2 years! That's crazy! He looks awkward in this picture but he had a ton of fun learning naughty things from Aunt Sarah. -sigh-

Tynan has the sweetest crib!

This is what we do at naptime now - redecorate the place. Then, when Mama grabs the camera, we frame our face charmingly for the photo.

Shawn converted the crib into a toddler bed not long after this day, leading to a whole host of new super-fun bedtime activities. Yay!

Museum Fun

Grandma Doreen and Grandpa Bob came for a visit over this weekend. We all loaded up in the car and headed for the hands-on museum. It was so much fun! I think I enjoyed it just as much as Tynan did. The exhibits get changed out from what I hear, so we can go back again soon and learn more stuff. Here Tynan is trying to balance a ball on a jet of air.


We got to watch sand dunes form.

One of my favorite parts of the museum was the kid-sized grocery store. They have shopping lists and plastic food and small carts and two kid-height checkout counters, complete with scanners, crank-turn conveyor belts, registers, and credit card machines.

I think that this is Tynan's attempt at a fake smile... We need to work on that, maybe.

Here you could look in a mirror and attempt to write on this chalkboard. Tynan skipped the mirror part altogether. Can't say that I blame him!

Wind-Up Toy Ran Down

I came home from work and found tuckered out Tynan snoozing on the living room floor. He naps like an angel at daycare but can sometimes refuse to do it at home. And sometimes gets away with that too. He skipped his nap on this day. Looks like it caught up to him!

Horsing Around

It is weird to think sometimes that I started this blog with a video clip of teeny tiny Tynan reaching for some baby keys because I couldn't get the video to send through e-mail and I wanted family members to see it. And now, here I am, uploading videos of monkey boy sumo wrestling with his papa. It has taken forever to get to this point while also somehow flashing by in the blink of an eye.

It's so crazy!

Happy Home Hair

Tynan didn't want us to snap a picture of his home haircut. He watched me cut Daddy's hair and then climbed up in the chair and sat still for quite a while. He's getting better with these trims. (Yay!)
