Laughing Rug Burn

6.22.09

Here is Tynan playing with his musical toy that helps him practice walking. I think he decided that the wheels were too fast, though, cause he turned it upside down and pushed it around that way for a bit. Tynan and Daddy were playing together while Mommy was at work, and they are definite boys. Look at the mess they've made! Aaah!

This video is later in the day, after I got home from work. Shawn was trying to tire Tynan out for bedtime. (I think it just made him a little bit more wired!) Oh, boys :-)

Upset

6.21.09

Tynan has been developing something of a temper lately. He gets his mind set on something and won't stop going after it. And if Mommy or Daddy try to interfere, then out come the tears! We are just so mean. We put an end to bath time too quickly. Or we try to feed a growing boy his vegetables. Or we won't let anyone play with electrical outlets. Or we try to change messy diapers, interfering with play time. And then we whip out the camera! Well, temper or not, we love our little guy!

Sleepy Eater

Here is Mr. Insomniac, refusing to nap. Silly boy! I eventually got him down. After recording this for the blog, of course.

11 Month Birthday!

11 Month Birthday!

Ah, eleven month photos. See how Tynan sat nicely with folded hands and straight back, smiling properly at the camera? See how he let me comb his hair and arrange a nice, clean background?

See how still he sat for picture after picture? I was amazed at his patience and cooperation.

Little imp!

Smashed potatoes

6.6.09

Tynan had his first taste of mashed potatoes today. I'm not sure if he actually ate any of them. . .

We also went swinging at the park. Tynan wasn't quite sure what to make of the swinging at first, but soon he realized that it was pretty fun :-)

Tynan's First Injury Report

6.4.09
Well, I walked into daycare and was thinking to myself, "Is that a big bump on Tynan's forehead?" when his teacher handed me his first Injury Report. It said "Tynan was trying to walk and fell and hit his head on a shelf." Tynan was trying to walk!?!?!?!?!?!? He stands alone at home but he has only been cruising, not stepping unaided. He's growing up so fast! I don't know if you can see it very well, but it is on the right side of his forehead. Poor guy! Now you know why I gave him the nickname "Booboo."

May Maydays

Well, I haven't posted in a while. . . For many reasons. Here is a big one:

The above picture shows how a normal drum for our frontload clothes washer should look. . .
This picture is what ours looked like. Notice the cracked areas, the rust, the missing pieces. One of those missing pieces came loose and scraped huge gouges in the housing, making a very scary noise in the middle of Tynan's nap. He must have been in a deep sleep, though, cause he slept through it! We had to order a new drum and Shawn had to take everything apart and replace it and then get it all back together with a scraped up housing. But now it works! Yay! Go Shawn!
Also, amidst washing clothes in various friends' washers and/or the bathtub while we waited for new parts, Shawn's car wouldn't start (bad battery cables). The next week, my car wouldn't start (loose battery cable from when we got keyless entry installed). The vacuum broke (my fault, but I won't tell you how!). The VCR broke (it won't rewind anymore. A sign to get with the times and get a DVR, perhaps?). I thought things were supposed to come in threes! Add to that the fact that we are coming up to the end of our lease and trying to find and buy a house amidst all the short sales and foreclosures. . . Things have been a little busy.
So I am trying to get back on track here. Hopefully everyone can forgive the delay!
Here is Tynan in his hilarious "I'd rather be naked" t-shirt (it's so true!) saying hello to Mama Monkey. Mama Monkey belonged to Shawn when he was a baby, isn't that crazy!

And here is Tynan loving on Grandpa Eric again. So cute!
