I found this book on clearance at Barnes & Noble. Every page has a fuzzy or shiny spot for Tynan to play with. It is like the book about puppies that Grandma Wendy bought him for Christmas. Tynan knows how to turn the pages, but I think he would rather just chew on the corners!

Last Minute Visit

Grandma Doreen called me in the early afternoon on a Friday and asked if it would be okay if she and Grandpa Bob came for a last minute visit. I said it would be fine and fun. Turned out they already had the car loaded up! Tynan hasn't seen Grandpa Bob since Christmas, so it was a nice visit.

Foot In Mouth

We filled out Tynan's 8 month questionnaire from the pediatrician's office. One of the questions was, "Does your baby put his foot in his mouth?" We marked "no." Well, 4 days later during a diaper change, Tynan grabbed his toes and jammed them in his mouth! Ew! (Of course he wouldn't do it for the camera, little stinker.) I'm not sure what stage of development it represents, but it's reassuring to know he can do it after all!

Giggling

Shawn isn't sure exactly what Tynan is giggling at in this video. It is really, really, really really cute!!

I Am the Walrus

Here is Tynan's current version of mobility. Shawn calls it "walrus crawling." Soon we'll teach him to clap his hands and bark like a seal. Okay, not really! But it's still cute. He followed Shawn to the bathroom today. We're going to have to buy more child gates.

8 Months Old!

Daddy took these pictures of Tynan on his 2/3 year birthday while Mommy was at work. (I love the expression in the first one!) I can't believe Tynan is almost a year old! It seemed like it took forever to incubate him! This past month, Tynan has become much more mobile and vocal. He sits up (for a minute or so, then he's off again!), falls asleep by himself (sometimes, cross your fingers!), loves sweet potatoes, cuddling, baths, and forbidden toys, and waves bye bye. Before we know it, he's going to be asking to borrow the car!

Here is the activity center Tynan's cousins outgrew. The one at daycare has all of the rattles broken off, so this is the first time he's made so much noise. He has been bouncing everywhere now!

Baby Yogi

This is Tynan's newest trick. It kind of looks like downward facing dog. Now that I think about it, he has been doing cobra for several months. He has also started doing a nice side plank. Maybe sun salutations can help him work off some of his energy!

Peek-A-Boo

Here is Tynan playing peek-a-boo with his quilt - so cute!
